Sep 21, 2014 Trailer Brake only works manually. My trailer brake reads the setting all the time (example 9. 5) but then when I hit the brakes it goes to 0 and I get no brakes. I really have to stomp the trucks brake pedal to get my factory trailer brake controller to start working. My old 2500 with tekonsha was better at stopping my fiver. May 17, 2009 I do have 12v on the blue wire when I actuate the brake controller manually and the trailer brakes do work when manually actuated.

Turns out the connector for the umbilical had some oxidation on it, as well as the receptical in the truck.
